Peninsula Mandalay | South San Francisco, CA
Cut into San Bruno Mountain, along a narrow road, this 112-unit condominium overcomes both design and constructability obstacles to take advantage of generous views of San Francisco Bay.
A post-tensioned precast concrete structure is utilized to minimize overall building height, yet provides luxurious ceilings. Clad in a subtly sculpted skin of cement plaster and colorful aluminum curtainwall, the tower provides a complement to the texture and color of the mountain’s backdrop.
Working in close harmony with the builder, LDA has maintained the economy desired, while securing the superior performance required of a condominium. Constructed under a fast-track process, LDA kept pace with the demanding schedule with clear and thorough documentation, and close cooperation with other design and engineering professionals.
