DRUG SOBERING CENTER

LDA provided leasehold improvements design for a private developer, tasked with converting their speculative rental property into a “design-to-suit” development for the City & County of San Francisco, Department of Public Health.

The existing building was originally intended for a single tenant consisting of an 8,000 gsf floor plate and a 5,000 gsf mostly open Mezzanine. LDA was able to create the necessary separation required by the DPH Design Program to segregate patient areas from the social services area that serve the patients with confidential advising.

Glass walls preserve auditory privacy while promoting unobstructed observation of the at-risk patient population and the staff that serves them. The basic sanitary services that were originally constructed were supplemented by shower rooms, laundry facilities, and a serving kitchen.
